Maldon & Tiptree FC is embarking on an exciting new chapter and is seeking an ambitious, commercially minded leader to become our Founding Academy Director. This is a unique opportunity to build and lead a brand-new Football & Education Academy from the ground up, creating life-changing opportunities for young people while shaping the future of one of Essex's most ambitious football clubs.
Based in Maldon, the successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and developing the academy's football and education pathways, building partnerships with colleges and education providers, driving student recruitment, and creating a financially sustainable model that delivers excellence both on and off the pitch.
We are looking for an inspirational leader with experience in football academies, sports education, youth development or further education, alongside strong commercial awareness and the ability to build successful partnerships. The ideal candidate will have the vision, drive and entrepreneurial mindset required to launch a new organisation and help it thrive.
he successful applicant will have a structured pathway to progress into the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) as the academy grows and achieves key milestones in recruitment, educational outcomes, commercial performance and organisational development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the establishment and long-term development of the Football & Education Academy.
- Develop partnerships with education providers, schools, grassroots clubs and community organisations.
- Drive student recruitment, retention and engagement.
- Oversee football, education and welfare programmes.
- Manage budgets, commercial partnerships and revenue generation.
- Build and lead a high-performing team while creating a culture centred on education, discipline, development and opportunity.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in football academies, sports education, youth development or a related sector.
- Proven success in launching, growing or managing educational or sporting programmes.
- Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to identify sustainable growth opportunities.
- A passion for creating positive outcomes for young people.
